Dr Tony Holohan has issued a message of hope as he claimed we are “fastest-improving country in Europe” with our number of daily Covid-19 cases continuing to fall.
The Chief Medical Officer said we are doing very well in our battle to suppress a devastating third wave of coronavirus infections.
However there was a blow as he said we are still reporting a level of disease that is “too high” for the current measures to be lifted as things stand.
