City of Kingston plagued with fake ‘park open’ signs during Melbourne coronavirus lockdown – 7NEWS.com.au
The signs are concerning locals who are currently in a strict six-week lockdown, with parents especially worried.

Fake signs claiming Melbourne parks are open have emerged amid the citys strict six-week lockdown.
The park open signs were spotted in the City of Kingston, prompting a warning from a local politician.
Parks in the area have been closed as part of Melbournes coronavirus lockdown.
The extremely concerning signs refer to children using the park because a strong immune system is best defence.
Labor member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson posted the urgent community notice to his Facebook page.
These signs are FAKE and not from City of Kingston or our Mayor, Cr Georgina Oxley! he said.
Our local playgrounds remain closed on the stage three restrictions for the next six weeks!
He expressed concerned over the lengths that had been taken to make the fraudulent signs look legitimate.
The use of our Mayors signature and the city of Kingston logo is fraudulent and very concerning, he said.
We are in a pandemic and everyone in our community is doing so well to come together and to support one another – and thats what Georgina and I will continue to do.
Many locals have taken to the comments to express their dismay over why someone would do this.
Hope they are caught and feel the full force of the law, Facebook user Kat said.
Unacceptable to put others at risk and then theres the fraudulent aspect!!
Can you please tell us if youre investigating to find the sick person who did this? another added.
