Things began badly and just got worse for a Melbourne Victory side that was three down inside 17 minutes and never really got back into the game thereafter.
They were almost punished as early as the third minute when the speedy Dylan Wenzel-Halls was played through by Josh Brindell-South, outpaced the central defensive pairing of Ryan Shotton and Dylan Ryan and was only denied by Max Crocombe, who conceded a corner.
But it didnt take long for Wenzel-Halls, the A-Leagues most exciting young striker, to open the floodgates and again it was his pace (and Shottons lack of it) that played a crucial role as he ran past the former Premier League centre-back…
