Earthworks Audio has long been known for its professional studio mics, but USB microphones for podcasters and gamers is an entirely new realm. At $349, the Earthworks Audio Icon is priced high for the category, though if we were judging by looks alone, it would be worth every penny, with an absolutely gorgeous, webcam-friendly design. As for audio quality, the Icon is a single-pattern (cardioid) condenser that uses no digital signal processing (DSP), so it delivers a relatively transparent signal….
