How often do we associate a date today with a significant date from years gone by?
February 6, 1952 is one such date that sticks in my mind every year. It’s the day King George VI died in his sleep at Sandringham, his Norfolk home, and the day 25-year-old Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth the Second.
The anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s accession is also the anniversary of her beloved father’s death. (Getty)
