Victoria’s local government areas with the most coronavirus cases – 7NEWS.com.au

New figures show exactly how many cases of COVID are in each local government area.

New figures from Victorias health department show the areas across the state that have the most cases of COVID-19.
The numbers do not reflect where the person was infected but where their residential address is listed.
The health department provided both a list of confirmed cases and those that are still active.
Victoria has had 3560 cases of COVID-19 and 1249 of these remain active.
Among these cases are a number of areas with notable figures.
The City of Hume has had the most confirmed cases at 354 but 176 remain active.
Melbourne has had 318 confirmed cases and they have the most active cases at 203.
Wyndham has 175 active cases with Moonee Valley having 122, Brimbank 97 and Moreland 67.
Whittlesea also has 44 active cases and Maribyrnong has 35 left.
The Mornington Peninsula has seen 64 confirmed cases during the pandemic but zero of these are now active.
Active cases are defined as someone who has tested positive, is currently in isolation and being monitored by the Department and who has not yet recovered, Victoria Health said in their statement.
The breakdown comes after Victoria recorded a further 216 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
A man in Victoria also died from the virus, taking the states death toll to 23.
