‘Ball’s in their court’: Push for federal taxpayers to pay for quarantine hub – Brisbane Times
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk wants the federal government to help fund a new 1000-bed facility in Toowoomba in exchange for taking more international arrivals.

The state government wants the Commonwealth to pay for construction and staffing and, in return, Queensland would increase its cap of 1000 international arrivals a week.
Ms Palaszczuk said states were doing the heavy lifting and quarantine should be a shared responsibility.
If the Commonwealth wants to pursue that option to bring home more vulnerable Australians by charter flights, well, the ball is now in their court, she said.
