European woman’s body found, UK man presumed dead

Police said the man, missing but presumed dead, is aged in his early 30s, lives on the Gold Coast, but was originally from the United Kingdom.
The air, land and sea search involved the Rescue 500 helicopter, several water police vessels and police patrols along the beach.
A police officer on one of the search vessels sustained back injuries and had to be treated by paramedics. It is believed this may have been caused by the rough sea conditions.

Police said the search continued on Friday afternoon and was concentrated on the water north of Kurrawa Surf Club in Broadbeach.
It was expected to continue on Saturday if needed, before search coordinators start to think about scaling the operation back later in the day.
