Apple patent application imagines charging cables that might not fray so easily – The Verge
Apple is apparently working on some ideas on how to make its cables more durable, having filed a patent application for a “Cable with Variable Stiffness.”

Theyd also be a uniform thickness instead of having a raised sleeve on the end

Apples charging cables arent exactly known for their durability. They often fray after a year or two and can even break down to the point where they wont charge your device at all.
