ASX rises 1.1 per cent on strong open – The Sydney Morning Herald
The ASX200 gained 1.1 per cent after market open thanks to a strong lead from Wall Street.

The local market has risen strongly after the open, gaining 74 points, or 1.1 per cent, to 6840. It was given a strong lead by Wall Street, which saw gains of around 0.9 per cent on all three main indexes.
All sectors were in the green following the beginning of trade, lead by the consumer discretionary and information technology sectors, each boasting gains of around 2 per cent.
