Council spends $25,000 to rescue controversial Darwin CBD tree damaged in chain protest

People protested and chained themselves to a scraggly tree on a roundabout when the local council wanted to tear it down and install traffic lights.

Now, the same council has spent $25,000 to bring it back to its former glory, and said it is worth $400,000 to the community.
