Says reaction to report on racism was ‘wrong’
Collingwood Football Club president Eddie McGuire has conceded he “got it wrong” when he said the tabling of the club’s report on racism made for a “proud day”.
The Magpies’ long-time leader tonight addressed his controversial use of words on a Zoom call held for the club’s annual general meeting, saying he hadn’t meant to portray Collingwood’s ugly past as something to be proud of when the report of alleged racism was leaked to the media.
