Blues are a top eight team on talent: Watson – SEN

Carlton picked up an impressive win on Sunday night, breaking away in the fourth quarter to defeat the Western Bulldogs by 52-points.
The Blues now sit 3-3 and in eighth place with impressive wins over Essendon and Geelong also under their belts.
Tim Watson believes Carlton has the potential to be a top eight team this year if it all clicks.
If they can get it together, and theyve got to be able to perform consistently, at their best theyre a top eight side. Theyve got top eight talent, he told SEN Breakfast.
Theres a philosophical shift in the way they play.
You watch this week in week out where players have the ball Carlton players when they have the ball they roll and want to play on.
When theres an option for them to go short, they ignore that and go longer down the field and that puts pressure on the opposition defence.
We saw that time and time again I the way they played. They are drilled to play a certain way.
Now, it wont hold up every single week, but I love what theyre doing. I love the way that David Teague is wanting his team to play.
Watson had some big praise for forward Jack Martin after his impressive start to the year as a Blue.
Martin kicked two goals from 13 disposals, had nine score involvements, laid five tackles, two goal assists and took three contested marks.
He might be as good as Cyril (Rioli) in terms of a 10-possession player and what hes capable of doing, Jack Martin.
Hes got some extraordinary talent about him.
The Blues have another huge test next weekend, taking on Port Adelaide at the Gabba.
