As Queensland legend misses out on big job
Former North Queensland Cowboys coach Paul Green will be formally announced as the new coach of the Queensland Maroons tomorrow.
Green, who won a premiership with the Cowboys in 2015, will take over from Wayne Bennett who led the Maroons last November to a shock 2-1 series win over New South Wales.
Green will be appointed by Queensland Rugby League on a one-year deal, with an option in his favour for 2022 according to the Courier Mail.
