New testing regime to catch out prison drug ‘cheats’
The Courier-Mail can reveal the move is being considered for the state’s jails, following a pilot study last year where a range of substances were detected in a southeast Queensland prison.While the tests can’t be used to catch out specific offenders, it allows authorities to test 100 per cent of the prison population – but it would not replace targeted testing of prisoners.A Queensland Corrective Services spokesman said the move would mean prisoners couldn’t “cheat” the system and also…
