The new head of the Australia-Pacific division walks into a role that paid the predecessor $3 million.

QBE has recruited for its chief executive of Australian operations Sue Houghton, the head of insurance at big four bank Westpac, which is offloading its businesses in the sector.
Ms Houghton will be running the Australia-Pacific division at Sydney-based QBE from August. It is a role that earned her predecessor, Vivek Bhatia, almost $3 million in his last full year in the job, in a division that reaped $5.1 billion in premiums.
