Scully retires, effective immediately – The Age
Hawthorn’s Tom Scully, the 2009 No.1 draft pick and former Demon and Giant, has walked away from football aged 29.
Late last month, Scully told the Hawks he would be taking time away from football for personal reasons and to consider his future.
Hawthorn made an official announcement confirming Scullys retirement on Tuesday morning.
Interim head of football Rob McCartney said the club was fully supportive of Toms decision.
Tom has given his heart and soul to our game for 11 years and he is now ready to switch focus to the next chapter of his life, McCartney said.
