BOM issues update as heavy rain floods roads, causes traffic chaos across Brisbane
Heavy rain across south-east Queensland has caused flash flooding and traffic chaos.
A severe thunderstorm warning for the Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redland City and Moreton Bay areas was issued on Tuesday morning.
The wet conditions contributed to traffic gridlock during peak hour across Brisbane.
The storm threat eased later in the morning and the thunderstorm warning was cancelled.
“The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed,” the Bureau of Meteorology said.
