‘Nerveless’ in maiden ATP main draw victory
Harry Bourchier has claimed the first win of his career in an ATP main draw event after stepping in for the injured Bernard Tomic against Marc Polmans.
Ushered in to face Polmans after Tomic withdrew with a knee complaint, Bourchier played some brilliant tennis, dispatching his favoured opponent 6-4 6-4.
Ranked 324th in the ATP men’s singles rankings, Bourchier showed nerves of steel, breaking Polmans in both sets before serving out the match in comfortable fashion.
