‘You will not even know we were here’: border checkpoints removed

Mr Wheeler said drivers should expect traffic diversions on the M1 and the Gold Coast from 7pm and 11pm.
The second border checkpoint operation lasted 42 days and more than 1000 vehicles were refused entry in that time.
Mr Wheeler said those returning to Queensland from WA would need to arrive via plane.
“If you’re travelling from WA, you will need a border declaration pass to come into Queensland,” he said.
“If you’re intending [to travel] from one of those hotspots, you will need an essential reason to do so.
“For instance, if you’re a returning Queensland resident, that’s okay, you can come back into Queensland, but you must do so by air … via an airport and therefore you need to go into a quarantine hotel at your own…
