Police investigate death of woman in Geelong suburb of Thomson

A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in the Geelong suburb of Thomson on Sunday night.

Police said the woman was in a critical condition when they found her on Sunday night after responding to reports she was being assaulted.

“Police were called to an address on The Walk just after 9.30pm following reports of an assault,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“On arrival a woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was located in a critical condition and CPR was commenced but she died at the scene.

“A man was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.”

It’s believed the man and woman knew each other and police say they’re not looking for anyone else at this stage.
