States react to WA coronavirus case, Queensland declares Metropolitan Perth, Peel and South West region a hotspot
Queensland health authorities have declared Perth and other parts of Western Australia a COVID-19 hotspot after a quarantine security guard tested positive to the virus.
From 6:00pm Sunday, anyone who has been in Perth, Peel or the South West regions of the state who arrives in Queensland will be forced into hotel quarantine for two weeks.
Queensland Health said that timeframe could change as more information emerges about the Western Australian outbreak.
Travellers who are already in Queensland but have been in a hotspot area since January 26 have been ordered to get tested and isolate until they get a result.
