Man dies following alleged Rockhampton bashing
A man who was bashed with a chair handle in a Rockhampton home last week has died in hospital.
Police confirmed on Sunday the 32-year-old Lakes Creek man died in Rockhampton Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
He had been on life support since Thursday evening, when he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition with severe head injuries.
It’s alleged the man become involved in an altercation with another man at the home about 10pm on January 28, with the deceased man sustaining his severe injuries during the fight.
Fellow Lakes Creek man Hamid Hussein, 35, has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, and is in custody after a brief appearance in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Friday.
