The look on James Vince’s face said it all.
The Sydney Sixers opener tonight had a chance to score a century when the men in pink needed just one run to beat the Perth Scorchers.
But speedster Andrew Tye trundled in and, in a moment that soured an exceptional Vince innings, bowled a wide.
Umpire Paul Wilson extended his arms as a gutted Vince stood stranded on 98, staring down the wicket in disbelief.
