Rescue helicopter called to serious Sunshine Coast crash

A rescue helicopter is responding to a crash on the Sunshine Coast that has left a motorcycle rider with serious injuries.
Paramedics, including critical care teams, were called to the scene on Peachester Road, Peachester, just before 10am after reports of the crash, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.
Two patients, both men, were assessed at the scene, with the motorcycle rider suffering leg, arm and abdominal injuries after colliding with a car, the spokeswoman said. The driver of the vehicle did not appear to be injured.
The rescue helicopter was called to help police, who were closing the road at the intersection with Walkers Road, about 5 kilometres west of Beerwah.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible.
