Actress Cicely Tyson, star of Sounder, The Help, dies aged 96

Cicely Tyson, the pioneering black actress who gained an Oscar nomination for her role as the sharecropper’s wife in Sounder and won a Tony Award at age 88 in 2013, has died aged 96.
