Dairy plant Viplus cuts 31 jobs at Toora

A South Gippsland dairy plant will axe more than 30 jobs because of the extended global downturn.

Viplus Dairy, which manufactures powdered milk products including infant formula, has announced it will make 31 workers redundant.
The company exports to 14 countries, but its biggest market is China.
Viplus Dairy chief executive Jon McNaught said staff had been let go because international markets had not rebounded from the pandemic as quickly as he had hoped.
