Suspected 2m crocodile attack in Far North Queensland leaves man with lacerations to head and face
A man has been hospitalised after an apparent crocodile attack in Far North Queensland.
Key points:
- The man aged in his 40s had lacerations to his head, face, hand and shoulder
- The man told paramedics it was a saltwater crocodile about 2 metres long
- Paramedics said the man was expected to make a full recovery
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man aged in his 40s was swimming at Lake Placid in Cairns just before 1:00pm when he was attacked.
He sustained lacerations to his head, face, hand and shoulder and was taken to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition.
Critical care paramedic Paul Sweeney said the man was conscious and luckily the injuries were not serious.
