Imposters offering bogus high-yield bond fund opportunities have ramped up their activity and are shelling out fake prospectuses, drawing in “millions” of dollars…

ASIC said scammers were pretending to be associated with well-known domestic and international financial services institutions, were sending professional-looking prospectuses with unrealistically high returns, falsely claiming investor funds would be pooled to invest in government or triple-A rated bonds, offering false protection under the governments financial claims scheme and using contact details gathered through fake investment comparison websites.
