How police failed Tara Brown

Patea and Ms Brown were in a relationship since 2011 and had a three-year-old daughter together.
“Ms Brown was an exceptional mother who doted on her daughter, a talented athlete, having played touch football at a representative level, and an excellent employee,” Deputy State Coroner Jane Bentley said in her findings.

On September 3, Ms Brown went to Southport Police Station after her solicitor rang ahead and asked for a private room so she could speak to police about Patea, because she feared him due to his position as sergeant-at-arms for the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang.
