Gold Coast quarantine guest allegedly stopped at 7/11 on return to hotel
All personal protective equipment and hygiene practices were followed, including hand sanitiser, face masks, the taxi window was down and the guest sat in the back seat opposite the driver.
A Queensland Health spokeswoman said the transfer on January 3 was approved by relevant staff at the Gold Coast Public Health Unit and all necessary PPE was used.
“The guest had travelled from the hotel to hospital via ambulance,” the statement said.
“There is an allegation that during the return trip, there may have been a quarantine breach. That has been referred to Queensland Police Service for investigation.
“The guest completed hotel quarantine in early January and tested negative for COVID-19 three times.
