Local boaties join search for three missing Queensland fishermen

The search continues for three men who disappeared during a fishing trip on Australia Day in far north Queensland.
The men, aged 18, 27 and 37, set out on a 4.8-metre vessel with a blue bimini canopy on Tuesday morning. They were due back in Yarrabah, near Cairns, that afternoon.

The trio on the vessel, which had the registration VO317Q, were last seen about 8.30am at a reef off Green Island, where they appeared to be having engine trouble.
On Thursday, water police scoured seas and the coastline from Yorkey’s Knob to Cape Tribulation – an estimated 130 kilometres of coastline.
