Queensland to open border to Greater Sydney, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says
Queensland will open the border to millions of Sydney residents from February 1.
The hard border was put back in place in late-December due to the Avalon cluster.
Wednesday marked a tenth consecutive day without a locally acquired COVID-19 case anywhere in New South Wales, prompting the reopening of the border.
Speaking to Sunrise on Thursday, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said it was welcome news for families and the struggling tourism industry.
