‘Mixture of grief and anger’ at roadside vigil for slain parents-to-be

Ms Leadbetter and Mr Field were walking their dogs when they were hit. They had been together for almost five years and Ms Leadbetter was pregnant.
A 17-year-old male has been charged with a string of offences, including two counts of murder. He could yet face more charges over the death of the unborn child.
He was allegedly driving the stolen Toyota LandCruiser that ran a red light, hit a truck, rolled and hit the couple as it did so. He is also accused of fleeing the scene and then trying to steal another car.
Among the mourners at Wednesday night’s vigil was Ms Leadbetter’s aunty, Danielle Leadbetter, as well as representatives of the police service, Redlands City Council and local residents, some of whom tried to help the victims.
