More charges flagged for teen driver after couple’s Australia Day deaths
The teen faces a string of driving charges, including dangerous operation of a vehicle while affected by an intoxicating substance.
Mr Codd flagged further charges were also possible, with legal provisions where a criminal, reckless or negligent act could result in a murder charge if a death was a “foreseeable consequence”.
“Tragically, and from advice from the family and … the Queensland Ambulance Service, we understand that Katherine was pregnant,” he said, adding there was also a legal provision under the Criminal Code for offences relating to the killing of unborn children.
