Wind back the clock. Back, back, back.
With a creak, the old wooden door opens.
You hear the tinkle of the bell.
You step inside, excitedly clutching your sixpenny coin.
Gazing at the magical display of lollies, you hesitate.
Then, “two for a penny licorice blocks please, and 6 milk bottles, and, and, and one of those licorice straps”.
Turning back toward the door, little did you realise that one day, a day long, long away, you would in some way look back with dreamy eyes.
Eyes that, in a way, yearn for those innocent and simpler times.
