The Tokyo Olympics might be in doubt but if they do go ahead, Matthew Ramsden can book a ticket after he ran the quickest 1500 metres by an Australian in Australia in more than 30 years.
Ramsden squeezed under the Olympic entry standard by three-hundredths of a second when he ran 3:34.97 at club meet in Perth on Sunday. The run was the fastest in Australia since Mike Hillardt (3:34.06) and Pat Scammell (3:34.61) in Melbourne in March 1988.
