The winners of the 2021 Australian Open will earn $1.3 million less than last year – Wide World of Sports
‘Tougher and tougher for players to make a living’

The winners of this year’s Australian Open will receive a pay cheque sliced by more than $1.3 million as tournament organisers redistribute money to look after the sport’s more modest performers.
Sofia Kenin and Novak Djokovic won $4.12 million for their 2020 AO triumphs but the major prize drops to $2.75 million this year.
AO boss Craig Tiley has confirmed that the overall prizemoney pool will remain intact while Tennis Australia has lobbied for better spoils for the ‘battlers.’
