‘We don’t want to keep using that word’

Australian football star Alanna Kennedy says the Matildas are ready to go from being the team with potential, to one that wins major tournaments ahead of the Olympic Games.
The Australians have qualified for just three Olympics in the last 25 years, reaching the quarter-finals stage in both 2016 and 2004, but Kennedy is convinced that the team has enough experience to go further in Tokyo.
“We’re looking forward to getting back together as a team in 2021,” she told Wide World of Sports.
