Police raid SEQ sites after Australian arrested over world’s largest dark-web marketplace
The AFP has not ruled out arrests off the back of the raids, with cybercrime forensic officers still combing through the evidence seized.

The alleged Australian administrator was arrested on Monday, January 11, and DarkMarket’s servers and infrastructure – operating in Germany – were shut down the same day.
According to the AFP, DarkMarket was used to sell drugs, counterfeit cash, stolen credit card data, anonymous SIM cards, and malware. It was also used by child sex offenders, organised crime syndicates and those who sought to harm law-abiding citizens.
DarkMarket had almost 500,000 users, more than 2400 sellers and more than 320,000 transactions. Almost $A220 million in cryptocurrency was traded on the site.
