Scotland has marked a special day by sending a beloved dish into the stratosphere.

Haggis has been launched to the edge of space to mark Burns Night.
A packet of the traditional Scottish dish has taken to orbit in celebration of the holiday that marks the life of poet Robert Burns on January 25.
Butcher Simon Howie teamed up with space research firm Stratonauts to launch the haggis, which was attached to a weather balloon so it could soar 20 miles above Earth.
