WA election could see Labor’s Mark McGowan tighten iron grip on power
For many of the McGowan Government’s political opponents, the question about the looming WA election stopped being “who will win?” a long time ago.
Instead, it became “just how lopsided will things get” on election night — and some Liberal MPs are increasingly fearful the answer to that question is “very”.
“We are in survival mode,” one Liberal warned this week.
With Labor already boasting a huge Lower House majority, the Liberals are having to play defence in some of the minimal territory they do hold.
A handful of Opposition seats could be vulnerable, potentially making it even harder for the Liberals and Nationals to stay relevant in Labor’s potential…
