Former Queensland lawyer Greg Sheppard arrested in Papua New Guinea on conspiracy charges

Former Queensland lawyer and father of Sheppard band members, Greg Sheppard, has been arrested in Papua New Guinea.
The PNG Police Commissioner said Mr Sheppard had been charged with two counts of conspiracy and two counts of false pretence.
The Commissioner said all charges relate to money allegedly transferred from trust funds set up to help communities affected by the Ok Tedi mine in PNG’s Western Province.
The charges related to what police allege were unauthorised withdrawals of more than $90 million from a trust fund set up to support development projects in PNG’s Western Province.
