ASX set to rise as the US rallies on Joe Biden’s inauguration as President – ABC News
US markets are hitting record highs in their afternoon trade as Joe Biden is inaugurated as the 46th US President.
Australian shares are set to rise on Thursday as the local market takes a positive lead from the start of a new era in the United States.
As of 7:15am, ASX 200 futures were trading 0.8 per cent higher to 6,743.
The benchmark closed Wednesday 0.4 per cent higher, while the All Ordinaries rose by half a per cent.
The Australian dollar is up 0.6 per cent to 77.41 US cents.
Jobs data is being released by the ABS this morning, with predictions it will impact the local currency.
