The @POTUS, @FLOTUS and @VP Twitter accounts have tens of millions of followers between them.

They’re currently in the names of Donald Trump, Melania Trump and Mike Pence — but in a matter of hours, they won’t actually be the POTUS, FLOTUS and VP anymore.

And just because their names are on it, it doesn’t mean they own the usernames.

The handles are reserved for official government use, and Twitter has been tasked with transferring them to the new administration.
