Premonition of Gold Coast mum-to-be’s murderer

Police tracked the location of the call and on their way to her address, officers found Wall covered in blood. He admitted he had hit Ms Palhares in the head with a tomahawk and believed she was dead.

Paramedics found Ms Palhares lying in a pool of blood. She was conscious, but went into cardiac arrest at the scene. She was declared dead at Gold Coast University Hospital at 5.35pm.
An autopsy concluded she died from head injuries. She suffered multiple fractures of the facial bones and skull and haemorrhage around and within the underlying brain.
The head injuries were due to blunt force trauma from multiple blows to her head. They were consistent with being caused by the head of an axe, such as that seized by police.
