Fifth operation on troublesome back
The immediate playing future of Tiger Woods is up in the air, after confirmation the 45-year-old has had back surgery for the fifth time.
According to a statement released by the 15-time major champion, he underwent a microdiscectomy to remove a pressurised disc fragment that was pinching a nerve.
He began experiencing discomfort during the recent PNC Championship, where he played alongside his son, Charlie.
Woods’ doctors say the surgery was a success and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
