People in NSW have been warned to be vigilant to ensure the state doesnt see the same community spread of coronavirus seen in Victoria.
The Australian Medical Association NSW President Dr Andrew Zuschmann said the situation in Victoria is bad but it could have just as easily been us.
Because of whats happened there and because of the porous nature of the border prior to it being closed, people in NSW are going to need to be very careful over the next few weeks, Dr Zuschmann said.
Its likely we wont know for sure whether community spread is going to be a problem here for a while.

Victoria’s coronavirus crisis worsens, with millions in lockdown, as Queensland reopens its borders.
Community spread of the type gripping Victoria currently is something different than most of what weve seen in NSW previously.
The majority of cases in NSW have been easier to contain from sources like hotel quarantine.
Dr Zuschmann added the virus is much harder to contain when it spreads from interstate travellers and through the community.

Your decisions as an individual could make a very big difference.
The Premier has been giving good advice you need to act like youre already infected and treat people not from your own household as though they are infected, he said.
Maintain social distancing, stay home as much as you can, and exercise a high degree of caution.
AMA (NSW) has previously compared the sort of advice being issued by the NSW Government on COVID-19 to that regarding international travel to places that might be hazardous.
The language is similar its not designed to create alarm but it is serious and it should be treated the same way.
The responsibility for stopping the spread of COVID-19 belongs to everyone and that means your decisions as an individual could make a very big difference.
Victoria recorded 288 new coronavirus cases on Friday, compared to NSW which confirmed 14 new cases – 13 of which were in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.
Fridays daily case increase in Victoria was the highest Australia has seen since the pandemic began, even topping NSWs daily records at the height of the Ruby Princess outbreak.
Hundreds of more cases of COVID-19 in Victoria remain active.
Across Melbourne, hundreds of thousands of people returned to lockdown and have been given only four reasons to leave their homes.
NSW last week also closed its borders to Victoria, following an agreement between the states premiers Daniel Andrews and Gladys Berejiklian and Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
