The two masterminds behind WA’s biggest illicit cigarette importation have been jailed for nearly five years.
ABF officers at the Fremantle Container Examination Facility intercepted the 9.5 million cigarette
The attempt to evade some $8.5 million in Duty and GST came unstuck when anomalies were detected in an x-ray of the container and an ABF detector dog also gave a positive response for tobacco.
