COVID fragments put three Queensland locations on alert detection in sewage
Three locations in Queensland are on alert after fragments of COVID were detected in sewage as part of the state’s virus surveillance.
The fragments were detected in samples collected from treatment plants in Merrimac, on the Gold Coast, Cairns North and Cannonvale, in the Airlie Beach area, last week.
Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said the detections are being treated seriously.
